Thought Bubble Concepts helps artists, organizations and causes find their voice and impact the world. However, working with Chris Foye to bring attention to his organization, founded in memory of his late son, is giving us a whole new level of satisfaction and gratitude.
Founded in 2009 by Chris Foye to honor and carry on the memory of his 13-year-old-son, Chris S. Owens, who was killed by a stray bullet in Harlem, the Foundation is dedicated to violence prevention and intervention and to youth and community development through programs for at-risk teens and young adults.
Foye has gained major public national attention on issues regarding gun control in Washington, D.C., with media coverage including CBS, ABC, Huffington Post, Daily News and more. Foye is an active participant in Mayor Bloomberg’s national campaign, Mayors Against Illegal Guns. The Demand a Plan campaign has over 1.2 million grass roots supporters, and 780 Mayors have signed the Demand a Plan petition to end gun violence.
Foye has filmed several public service announcements in connection with Mayors Against Illegal Guns, demanding a plan to end gun violence from our nation’s leaders. He was among the 100 survivors and relatives of victims of gun violence invited to the White House to met First Lady Michelle Obama (photo above). Foye believes education is the cure to violence and is dedicated to ending gun violence and changing the mindset of American youth in order to keep our communities safe.
The CSO Foundation is based in and provides services to Kings County youth affected by gun violence. It designed its programs to advance the quality of life for its participants and the community by means of education, awareness and career opportunities via our internship training programs. The Foundation has partnered with community based non-profit and businesses to encourage support and community activism among the youth through sports programs, annual charity events and scholarship awards to students who qualify based on G.P.A. and progress reports.
We are especially proud to be working with Chris to h,elp him fulfill his mission, impact his community and honor the memory of his son.
